NEW VENUE: RETHINKING WHERE TO SHOW ART

While executing a move out of the wonderful studio/showroom shared with my former Brushstrokes Studio-Gallery partner John--a decision driven by the Covid crisis--I was approached by Denver interiors influencer, Jill Livran, to show original art at her upscale home decor collection, The Lark. Her retail venue features a highly curated, approachable yet sophisticated array of interior accoutrements and gifts. She's successfully sold small original paintings in the past, and high-end canvas giclee reproductions. Jill and I discussed the plausibility of selling larger paintings to her many clients who want only original for the homes, while still providing affordable giclees.

Admittedly, it had never occurred to me to show my work in this genre of retail. But in the hands of an interiors maestro, while many galleries remain quiet, I've happily agreed to the experiment. We'll both cross-promote each other on social media, and are hoping for a win-win!

Art For The Greater Good

During this soul-searching, heart-wrenching time, I've decided to utilize my studio moving sale to help build awareness about an organization that has steadfastly supported teen families and has long served as a leader in this arena, Florence Crittenton Services of Colorado. The organization serves teen moms and their babies, who are largely of color. The Covid crisis has added a profound layer of fiscal, emotional and logistical challenges for these families--which Florence Crittenton is admirably addressing.

"Tangerine Sunset" is a vibrant piece that evokes a sense of hope, and literally brighter-days-ahead. All proceeds of this piece will go directly to the organization. If you're interested, contact me! (36x48", gallery wrap, $4400 retail, $3360 sale....let's talk!)  www.flocrit.org
